Christmas is around the corner! What are you asking for this year? Is it just me, or are a lot of adult Christmas stockings neglected?? Maybe it's just mine?!
As a kid, I could always rely on some small gift(s) in my stocking. As an adult, my stocking simply became nothing more than a decoration for our fireplace.
Well it's time to bring the tradition back to life! I'm asking my husband for some goodies in my stocking this year. My stocking will no longer be for decoration use only! :)

If you're thinking your stocking needs some TLC this year, here's several of my favorite products that can make for some great stocking stuffers:
1. Alien Perfume- strange name, but I've received a lot of compliments. I've been using this for years, an oldie but goodie in my book.
2. Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant-my absolute favorite. The scent is heavenly!
3. Diorshow Mascara-hands down the best mascara out there. Pair it with the Diorshow Maximizer Lash Primer=amazing!
4. Kiehl's Creme de Corps body lotion-a lifesaver during these cold, dry winter months.
5. EOS lip balm-odd shape, but comes in many different flavors. Try the sweet mint, it's my fave.
Or if you feel like you've been extra nice this year and not naughty, ask "Santa" for something like a wallet. I recently purchased this Kate Spade wallet. (What can I say? I'm a sucker for polka dots!)
Any ideas for my stocking? Any products out there that you adore?
I will say that I never had stockings growing up or for that matter Christmas in the home. I always felt left out at school when all the kids came back from break talking about what they got from Santa. Many times I wondered why Santa forgot our house. Obviously as I got older I found out why.
ReplyDeleteOnce I started dating Rich his Mom always included me in all X-mas festivities from day one. Every year she does gifts and stockings for everyone. She often fills stockings with socks, perfume, candy, gift cards, gloves, etc. Now that I have children of my own and a home each one of the girls has their own stocking with their name on it and so do Rich and I. Rich will fill my stocking this year (My mother-in-law also has one at her house for all of us) and I will fill his. We both will fill the girls' stockings. For Rich I put in chocolate, Iphone gloves, socks, etc. One thing I got last year from my mil were lip glosses that were amazing. I love hand lotion tubes that can just go in a purse.
Honestly, I don't feel very festive after the tragedy in CT. I am at a loss for words and stockings stuffers are the last thing on my mind. Of course, the show will go on b/c I want Alaina and Nola to have a great day but it won't be without first saying a prayer for the children and families in CT.
Sorry Heather for changing the fun vibe on the post!!! :)
Hahahaha! Daaaaaaaaaamn You like expensive stocking stuffers! What ever happened to getting socks, underwear, chocolates and maybe a deck of cards...That's the crap I received as a child - LOLOLOL. I say anything from Victoria's Secret, Sephora, etc. Anything beauty related so basically you are asking for what I would be asking for too! LOL Gift cards work too!!! They definitely fit in stockings!
ReplyDelete@ Vasavi-so problem changing the vibe. This was a post before the tragedy. I thought about writing about it, but I'm honestly at a loss for words and turned to prayers for solace. I'm glad Rich's mom is taking such good care of you and that you and Rich are starting your own traditions. Thanks for the comment! XOXO
ReplyDelete** No not so :)
Delete@ Ann- expensive?? Tell Dave you deserve diamonds in your stocking! :)
