There is a bit of an extra pep in my step when the holidays roll around. Why? One simple word-tradition. During my younger years, I remember my mom hiding an Easter basket in my house and I would wake up feeling eager and ready to begin the hunt for my sugary surprise. Once I became a bit older, she would hide plastic eggs all over the house that contained money/change inside. We would dye eggs and our house would always be decorated. (Oh, how I love to reminisce.)
Time=change. However, I still find happiness in little things whenever Easter rolls around. Who else do you know that snaps a picture of a new nail polish color in her car?!?
Look at the title of this entry. The Little Things. Yes, even a new mint green color on my nails makes me smile whenever I look at my hands.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!! XOXO
Yes! I love the little things. We have to find beauty everywhere. You are practicing being "present". xoxo

ReplyDeleteOk, so I just caught up on your blog and again, tried to post a comment unsuccessfully! At some point in the next month when you are off, you have to help me with this! LOL!
I read your post The Little Things and I immediately was pulled back to something that happened to me 2 days ago. It was Saturday morning and I was driving to the salon. It was a gorgeous perfect morning, cool and crisp but the sun shining and warming the chill up. I'm dirving through the parking lot and in the middle of the empty lot, basking in the sun, was a lone goose just sitting/laying there. It was so random and strange (since they usually are in packs!) that I had to chuckle. It warmed my soul knowing that even through all the frustration I've been feeling lately, a single goose in an empty parking lot could bring a smile to my face and it made for a great day! You are so right Heather...the little, simple things in life really are what can pull at our heart's strings and bring some sunshine to some chaos!!!
Schenners thanks so much for sharing your experience. I think your story is wonderful and even made me smile. We are all guilty of flying through our days and not paying attention to the little things.
